Position provides systems expertise for MCNC's systems operations group, which includes support for external cloud services, internal systems, security products, network and management systems, and data center initiatives.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
Assist with development, deployment and management of solutions to support MCNCs internal operations and products.
Troubleshoot other hardware/software issues.
Provides customer support and interface for data center customers.
Participates in other systems engineering projects and processes.
Provide customer support for other MCNC services
Minimum Education, Experience and Skills Requirements
BS in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience
4-5 years’ experience in systems administration, systems engineering or systems analysis
Advanced knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems.
Experience with scripting or software development ideally in Bash, PHP or Python.
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and related protocols, including ability to work with packet captures.
Working knowledge of fundamental concepts of information security, including IAM and endpoint security.
Relevant certifications from Red Hat, Cisco, Sun, Microsoft or other.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
Ability to work with others to resolve problems and handle requests or situations.
Strong organizational skills.
Team player.
Detail-oriented.
Additional Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license and will be required to drive a company vehicle on company business. Pre-employment and annual MVR checks will be required during your employment with the company for this position in order to be approved to drive a company-owned vehicle.
Background and sex offender checks will be performed for pre-employment and annually during your employment with the company
