The responsibilities of the Principal Data Engineer include the following:
Drive robust data engineering processes to complement next generation data analytics.
Use agile methodologies in collaboration with business analysts and engineers (data, DevOps, test and, release) to plan, estimate and, architect technical solutions.
Execute the project while leading the technical team to ensure reliable, secure, cost-effective, performant, maintainable, scalable, and accurate data systems.
Collaborate with other engineering teams to design interfaces that support data integration with internal and external platforms.
The desired skill set includes the following:
Record of accomplishment in a geographically distributed team environment
Experience with modern data architectures (data lakes, real-time, stream processing, etc.)
Experience building infrastructure on Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, and Azure)
Data warehouse and data lake development: Google Big Query, Snowflake, and Databricks?
Skilled at diving deep into technical problems through code reviews and digging deeper into issues with the team.
Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the SDLC (Agile/Waterfall)
Experience with data ingestion technologies including replication, batch, and API?
Experience diagramming and documenting in detail for architectural review and development team communication.
