Reporting to the Digital Workplace Head of Function for Network and Security, the Senior Digital Workplace Security Engineer has proficiency in a diverse set of technologies and tools necessary to design, lead implement and drive our transformation to a modern, colleague orientated digital workplace.
You will work within a global team of technical and security peers to drive forward security, whilst keeping colleague experience at the heart of everything we do.
This role is technical/hands on but requires strong stakeholder engagement with the business and key suppliers to help us redefine Pearson’s Digital Workplace platform services and secure solutions.
Skills and Abilities:
Engineering/Architectural knowledge and proven experience of Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and Endpoint security solutions (E5).
Strong knowledge and experience with data centric controls (AIP, OME, B2B and B2C)
Extensive knowledge and experience of the Microsoft Defender Security Product Suite including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Defender for Identity and Microsoft Sentinel.
Extensive knowledge of endpoint security and device hardening, including Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and Virtual Desktops. (MEM/Intune & JAMF)
Engineering level experience of Azure Active Directory and modern auth.
Proven expertise of Microsoft 365 products (Office365, SharePoint, EM+S, etc.)
Some experience of working with modern coding and scripting skills e.g. PowerShell or Python
Knowledge/experience of Azure DevOps service.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead Engineering designs exceeding business requirements to meet Pearson’s security objectives.
Provide security guidance and expertise to ensure project roadmaps encompass the required security controls.
Implement the medium-term and long-term Engineering strategy and design for Digital Workplace Services Team in conjunction with Pearson’s CISO team.
Work collaboratively with stake holders to plan the future of Pearson’s Digital Workplace.
Assist in managing project deliverables to meet their objectives against quality (including security), budget control, time management.
Some national and international travel may be required (infrequently)
