As a Data Engineering Manager, you will help grow our Data Engineering teams and our data pipelines in both the Amazon and Google clouds. Our internal business partners include product, engineering (software and quality), architecture, project management, data science and machine learning.??You will be joining a Google Cloud Award winning team.
The responsibilities of the Data Engineering Manager role include the following:?
Lead, mentor, manage and reward a team of data engineers at all levels
Support the creation of reliable, secure, cost-effective, performant, maintainable, scalable, and accurate data systems
Collaborate with other engineering teams to design interfaces that support data integration with internal and external platforms
Working with business partners to prioritize workloads
Define and monitor metrics on performance, quality, and cloud cost optimization of your team's data systems
The desired skill set includes the following:?
Record of accomplishment partnering with recruiting and vendors to build incredible high performing engaging teams in a geographically distributed team environment
Experience with modern data architectures (data lakes, real-time, stream processing, etc.)
Experience building infrastructure on Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, and Azure)
Data warehouse and data lake development: Google Big Query, Snowflake, and Databricks?
Skilled at diving deep into technical problems through code reviews and digging deeper into issues but prefer to enable the team.
Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the SDLC (Agile/Waterfall)
Experience with data ingestion technologies including replication, batch, and API?
Nice to Have
Prior experience working with Apache Airflow/GCP composer, Google Big Query
