Overview

Cloud & Platform Technology (CPT) sits in the heart of Deutsche Bank’s technology stack and is a customer-centric organization, dedicated to supplying market leading platforms, applications, and technology advice across Deutsche Bank. Cloud adoption is part of the remit of CPT and Deutsche Bank intends to form a ten-year strategic partnership with Google. Our goal is to use the full native capabilities of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to build and offer self-service shared platforms for the entire Bank to consume and, in turn, run its business applications on.

 

Autonomous application teams will use our self-service and API-driven platform to build on, secure and operate GCP. To free their time to solve business problems, we will encourage and support the use of SaaS over PaaS over CaaS over IaaS and will grow a community of practice to be the first port of call for teams who want to learn, solve their problems, and contribute to the evolution of the platform itself.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be a leader among your peers, role modelling our engineering culture; you will design, build, and support the self-service, API-driven platform that will be the enterprise's conduit to GCP and help application teams use the platform

  • Be an active participant in the community of practice around the platform, contribute content to meet-ups, commit to inner-sourced tools, and work with the community to develop common solutions to common problems

  • You will walk a mile in our customers' shoes to understand the impact your choices have on others

  • Through treating everything as code you will apply the rigor you code with to the documentation, cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and security policies you work on

  • With solutions that satisfy the essential characteristics of cloud; if it is not on-demand self-service, you will not be happy

 

Your Skills and Experience:

  • You will be competent using at least one programming language and have some experience of using Terraform to deploy production applications to public cloud providers and have experience working with a cloud service provider (GCP, AWS, Azure)

  • Experience with multi-tenanting, metering or logging at scale in a SaaS product, and foundational infrastructure services like secrets or identity management in an enterprise

  • Scaling and securing a cloud or container platform (i.e. Kubernetes, OpenShift, and GKE)

  • Deploying pipelines (i.e. GitHub, GitLab), infrastructure or policies as code (i.e. Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, CloudFormation)

  • Experience using GCP or another cloud provider to build applications: you might have OSS contributions, side-projects, or community work that you are proud of
